Space - Stureplansgruppen

Introduction:
At SPACE, one of Stockholm’s most prominent event venues, visual presentation plays a critical role. The venue hosts high‑end events, global brands, and internationally recognized speakers, where expectations for production quality are extremely high.
When Stureplansgruppen took over the venue, they inherited an existing digital display installation: Samsung screens mounted on large structural pillars throughout the space. These pillars were already visually central to the venue — but technically underutilized.
Rather than replacing the screens, Stureplansgruppen chose a different path: extract more value, flexibility, and impact from what was already installed. To achieve this, they partnered with NordicScreen and 3‑MA, combining software innovation with AV integration expertise.
The Customer: Stureplansgruppen
Stureplansgruppen is one of Sweden’s most influential operators within events, hospitality, nightlife, and leisure. Through venues such as SPACE, the group attracts premium audiences, global brands, and world‑class speakers.
For Stureplansgruppen, digital displays are not decoration — they are a commercial and experiential tool that directly affects how events are perceived, booked, and valued.
The Solution: Redefining What the Hardware Could Do
Instead of treating each screen as a fixed, separate unit, Q‑play allowed the displays to be redefined in software.
Using NordicScreen’s platform, the existing Samsung screens were logically combined into something entirely new.
What changed in practice
- 12 screens could now function as one single video surface
- The system supported a total canvas of 6480 × 3840 pixels
- The surface could be divided into flexible zones, rather than fixed hardware groups
- Each side of the pillar could run:
- Fully synchronized content
- Identical mirrored content
- Completely independent content
All of this was controlled centrally through NordicScreen’s Q-Play, without modifying or replacing the physical displays.
